Meet Obie Allyn Moose O'Brien -- that's Obie O'B for short : ) -- our new puppy who we adopted six weeks ago. 🐾 We are head over heels in love with our little guy even if we're making mistakes as we figure out how to be good, puppy parents.

We are learning how to train our 14 month old puppy including but not limited to teaching Obie:

(1) His new name

(2) To sit

(3) To come

(4) To walk on a leash (he has three modes so far: he pulls us, we pull him and loose leash walking without any pulling)

(5) To be patient (and chill) when mom snaps photos of sunset : )

While we will pursue professional dog training to give Obie and our family the best life possible (e.g. training classes at Potter LeagueĀ in Middletown, RI and with professionals like Sheila at Wag A Tail Dog Sitting), we've gotten some great tips from friends, family and --YouTube. I'll say that best thing I've learned to motivate Obie so far is his "high value" reward of choice -- a bit of cheese. Yes, he is his mama's fur baby : ) šŸ§€

We are eternally grateful to the wonderful people at ArkanPaws Animal Rescue for taking great care of Obie as young puppy and for helping him find his way to Rhode Island -- to his forever family. So much puppy love in Newport, RI. ā¤ļøšŸ™šŸ»šŸ¶
